A personal selection by P. Erdös of recent results and open problems about polynomials and Lagrange interpolation. The following problem carries the offer of a {$} 250 reward: Let fn(z) be a polynomial of degree n with leading coefficient 1. Prove that the length of the curve(s) |fn(z)| = 1 is maximal for fn(z) = zn-1.
